If you want to obtain a retroactive license please use the Retroactive License Application below. In addition to the Retroactive License Application you also must submit a surety bond, the Proposed Manager Information form and a check in the amount of $10,000.
Application processing time is approximately three weeks for either type of license.
All collection agency licenses expire on June 30. Our license renewal period begins on April 1 and runs through June 30. A late fee of $125 is assessed against licensees who fail to renew during the license renewal period.
Licenses may be renewed using our .pdf-fillable paper form (License Renewal Application) or online through this website. If you renew your license online you may pay the licensing fees using Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit cards or an electronic check (i.e., eCheck) which is a method of debiting funds directly from your checking account. The online processing fee is 3% of your total renewal fee plus $1. The online licensing system is available from April 1 through July 29.

Licensees are required to register each of their collectors and solicitors once each licensing year (July 1 – June 30), i.e., new collectors within 90 days of their date of hire and collectors and solicitors who are employed at the time of license renewal. The registration fee is $20 per collector.

If you are having problems with a collection agency you may file a complaint by filling out the form below and sending it to us or by calling us at (501) 371-1435.
If you want to stop calls or letters from a collection agency, you must write a letter to the collection agency saying that do not want to receive any future communications from it, keep a copy of the letter for your files and send the letter to the collection agency. Send the letter by certified mail, return receipt requested so that you will have proof that the collection agency received the letter.
